Come to the Florida Keys to experience snorkeling or diving on the only living reef in North America.  The Florida Keys ARE the best choice for snorkeling and diving.  You can see over 500 different species of colorful  tropical fish and 50 varieties of beautiful colored coral along with sponges, jellyfish, crabs, rays, turtles and lobsters. Float over breathtaking brightly colorful coral and schools of tropical fish.  Swim over one of the numerous shipwrecks lying on the ocean floor all around the Florida Keys.

One can snorkel on the shallow reefs or for the more experienced divers on the deeper reefs where you can view wrecks of ancient ships dating back to 1622.

Wreck diving is very popular day or night.  If you take your own boat make sure you have a nautical chart and maps showing locations of the different dive sites around the Florida Keys.  These may be purchased at most places in the Florida Keys. For information on dive charts go to the  nooa.gov website. There are many diving professionals available to take you diving.

Underwater photography is taught and equipment may be rented or purchased, as can all your diving or snorkeling equipment you may need.

So that boat anchors do not damage the reefs most dive sites have mooring lines for boaters to tie-off.

Scuba diving has come to the Florida Keys and a unique way to experience underwater exploring.  A way that combines scuba diving and snorkeling.  The oxygen comes from a floating air tank system to which you are connected with a long tube. Tours are available.

The Florida Keys are truly a paradise for divers and snorkelers.  There are many dive sites to choose from.  Both PADI and NAVI certifications are accepted, you must present your card.

On the Florida Keys there are many places to rent or purchase the diving or snorkeling equipment you need.

You can learn to dive in just one day.  For those who have never dived before and wish to do so there is offered a one day diving lesson, at a resort, You learn the basics in a pool to familiarize you with the diving equipment.

After learning the basics you are taken to a diving location where you experience your first dive.  Of course an experienced diving professional is with you so you feel safe.  What a wonderful day
